Things are pretty tough for you if you are on the streets. Katie’s PET DEPOT in West Los Angeles was invited by Dan Didden, DVM to help homeless youth serviced by S.P.Y., by donating pet food for pets that some of these homeless youth have.
While most of these youth have larger issues they are dealing with, pets can be a real comforting partner in their daily struggles. Pets can also be a burden to take care of and feed, compounding the stress on these young people. Katie’s PET DEPOT will do our part to help ease that burden by donating pet food as needed. S.P.Y. administrators and volunteers directly monitor the needs of the youth they service and the pets need for food, collars & leashes, remedies, grooming and care. It really helps bring a little cheer to a tough situation we all hope will get better.
Safe Place for Youth’s mission is to inspire, nurture, and empower the resilient human spirit of homeless youth by providing immediate and lasting solutions, one young person at a time.
